The facility for the Center for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research (ZSW) in Ulm is used for the production of batteries. This method is based on coating a copper foil with anode paste and an aluminum foil with cathode paste. This process requires a very precise application of the cathode or anode in the range of less than 10 μm in thickness. The films are dried contactlessly in a dryer. Inside the dryer, the film is carried by air nozzles in a sinusoid without support points to the other end. The order of the anode or cathode paste via a nozzle or a doctor blade. The entire facility, including the float dryer, was developed and built by Lacom.
